PSV has opened up Ismael Saibari 's contract and extended it for another year. The Moroccan international signed a contract eight months ago until the summer of 2028. A year has now been added to that.
The 23-year-old Ismael Saibari has been part of PSV's main squad since 2022-2023. This season he became a regular. The technically gifted midfielder made 31 appearances in Peter Boszs team, scored eight goals and provided four assists. With a contract until 2029, PSV rewards his development.
"The season was already wonderful, but this is the icing on the cake for me. I am very happy that I can stay at PSV for many more years," Ismael said upon signing his latest contract. "The club shows again that they have confidence in me. It's up to me to pay that off on the pitch. I want to continue to grow in the coming seasons and, of course, win everything there is to win."
Stormy development
Director of Football Affairs Earnest Stewart is pleased that an agreement was reached so quickly. "Ismael has gone through a stormy development. From PSV Academy to the UEFA Champions League and everything in between; each time he has proven his worth. He combines power with technique, and that makes him a special player. He still had a contract until the summer of 2028 and we are happy to add another year to that. PSV is striking a nice blow with this."
Ismael joined PSV Academy in 2020, where he soon made his debut in professional football. After two seasons with PSV U21, he found himself joining the main squad. In 61 matches, the six-time Moroccan international won the TOTO KNVB Cup twice, the Johan Cruijff Schaal twice and, of course, the national title.
