Defender Julie Biesmans has been nominated for a prestigious award by HLN in Belgium. The Belgian international is one of 10 contenders for The Golden Ball.
The 25-year-old player came over from Bristol City (WSL) last summer and immediately secured her place in the PSV Women's starting line-up. Together with Aniek Nouwen, the reliable defender forms the central duo at the unbeaten frontrunner. Biesmans is also a regular with the Red Flames, the team on course for European Championship qualification.
Federation members, coaches and referees in women's football, ex-Red Flames and journalists can vote in Belgium until Dec. 31. On Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, the winner will be announced at the Golden Shoe Gala.
