PSV and Almere City will cross swords for the fifth time in the club's history. The team from Almere travels to the Philips Stadium, following PSV's biggest away win this season in Almere. In 2014, the two previously faced each other in the cup tournament.

PSV and Almere City FC have played each other three times so far in the Eredivisie. The first encounter between the two clubs dates back to 2014, when they met in the cup tournament. PSV won that match convincingly 5-1. The first Eredivisie match between the two teams was played in Almere, where PSV triumphed 4-0. In the return came another 2-0 victory, thanks to two goals by Luuk de Jong.

The most recent match, at Yanmar Stadium, ended in a 7-1 victory for PSV. This is considered the biggest away win of the season. Six PSV U21 players scored: Guus Til, Luuk de Jong, Couhaib Driouech, Malik Tillman, Hirving Lozano , and Ricardo Pepi. In addition, Théo Barbet scored an own goal.

In that match at Yanmar Stadium, Michael Bresser made his official debut for the first team. The 17-year-old defender came on as a substitute in the 88th minute.

Limited scoring ability
FC Groningen, PSV’s previous opponent, has scored the fewest goals in home games this season. Almere City FC, on the other hand, has the lowest goal output in both away and home matches. Jeroen Rijsdijk’s team has found the back of the net only twenty times so far, while PSV has already scored 81 times in the Eredivisie.

Players with a history at Almere
PSV currently has two players on its roster who received part of their training at Almere City. Ryan Flamingo joined Almere City’s youth academy in 2014 and made his debut for the Under-21 team at the age of sixteen, before moving to the Italian club VS Sassuolo. Sergiño Dest also played in Almere City’s youth system from 2009 to 2012.

Milestones
Saturday, some PSV players may reach a special milestone. Armando Obispo could make his 100th appearance for the A-selection. Joey Veerman, who has played for PSV since the winter of 2022, is about to play his 150thofficial game for the club. In addition, a special moment also beckons for Olivier Boscagli: he can play his 200th game in the red-white.

Almere City FC
Almere City FC is currently shared last in the Eredivisie with nineteen points, the same number as RKC Waalwijk. The team has been under the management of Jeroen Rijsdijk since January. In the previous round Almere City fought back from a 2-0 deficit against PEC Zwolle and eventually drew 2-2. A week earlier the team secured a fine 2-0 victory at Willem II, while before that they secured a point at home against NAC Breda after a 1-1 draw.
