After having spent three seasons with PSV, 33-year-old goalkeeper Remko Pasveer has signed a three-year deal with Vitesse. Pasveer said goodbye to his former PSV team mates at De Herdgang training ground on Wednesday morning.
Three seasons with PSV
Remko Pasveer joined PSV in the 2014/15 season and has proved to be a reliable backup for first-choice goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet the last three seasons. Pasveer made nine Eredivisie appearances for PSV, nine in the KNVB Cup and played four European games. His contract with PSV was due to expire in the summer of 2018.
'I feel grateful'
"I am grateful for the chance offered by Vitesse, but it will not be easy to leave this place”, said Remko Pasveer, speaking to PSV TV. "I’ve made a lot of friends here and will certainly miss the people that work at De Herdgang training ground. I had a great time here in Eindhoven and enjoyed the matches I played and the training sessions. I am happy to have taken this road and feel grateful for PSV to allow me to take this next step in my career.”
Pasveer made his PSV debut in the 1-0 win over Sjachtjor Salihorsk. He was PSV’s man between the sticks in the Dutch Cup tournament the past few years. He won the Eredivisie title with PSV in 2015 and 2016 and also won the Dutch Super Cup (= Johan Cruijff Shield) on two occasions.
