Restaurant Avant-Garde Van Groeninge

The board of directors of the hosts traditionally invites the board of the visitors and the UEFA delegates to an official dinner party. PSV always welcome their guests in Avant-Garde Van Groeninge in the Philips Stadium, a restaurant that has been awarded an entry in the Michelin Guide. UEFA delegate Pierino Lardi presented PSV the traditional plaque, which every participating club receives, ahead of the first home game. The plaque was presented to PSV President Frits Schuitema, in the company of General Manager Jan Reker and Commercial Director Marcel van den Bunder. The PSV, Atlético Madrid and UEFA officials then sat down to dinner. PSV have qualified for the Champions League for the thirteenth time and they compete in the prestigious tournament for the twelfth time in a row. They first took part in the 1992/93 season, when the European Cup I tournament was renamed to UEFA Champions League.
