Zahavi was happy with his new start with PSV. Speaking after the game, he said:
“It feels good to score twice in such a big game. And it feels like a fresh start. We all want to forget 2020 as soon as possible and I am no exception”, said Zahavi, who was after all not the match-winner as Ajax came from 2-2 down to claim a point in a 2-2 draw.
Dumfries: “2-2 a fair reflection of the game”
PSV captain Denzel Dumfries thought that Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Ajax was a fair overall reflection of the game. “It is a fair result”, he said, a few minutes after the final whistle. “We had a dream start and our game plan worked perfectly. But Ajax fought themselves back into the game and deserved their equaliser. Yet we grow as a team and a 2-2 draw away at Ajax is not a bad result at all. We’ll take the positives of the first half into the next game, on Wednesday when we host AZ.”
