Willem II score few goals

Willem II have conceded precious few goals this season so far but fail to find the back of the net regularly. Their leading goalscorer Fran Sol looks to end his 522-minute goal drought.

Striker without an assist
Sol is the only Eredivisie player who scored most goals without having one assist. Unlike Sol, Obbi Oulare, who joined Willem II on loan from Watford during the January transfer window, has been on target for Willem II lately, scoring a goal in his last two games.

Lamprou
Willem II are defensively one of the most solid Eredivisie teams, thanks to some fine performances of their goalkeeper Kostas Lamprou, who has made 151 saves, more than any other Eredivisie keeper. Willem II have conceded only 34 goals in 29 games.

Penalty killer
Willem II are the only team that have not conceded a goal from a penalty that had gone against them. Heracles Almelo won two spot kicks in one minute. Lamprou saved one and saw the other hit the post. Luuk de Jong was the last successful penalty killer when facing Lamprou, sending the Greek goalkeeper the wrong way in last season’s 2-0 home win.

Five former PSV players
Funso Ojo made his league debut for PSV in the 0-3 win at Willem II on 10 May 2009. He made eleven Eredivisie appearances for PSV between 2009 and 2011. He joined Willem II in July 2005 and has made 23 starts for the Tilburg outfit this season so far. Nigel Bertrams, Freek Heerkens, Guus Joppen and Dries Wuytens, who were active as youth players at De Herdgang training facilities, wear a shirt consisting of red-white-blue vertical stripes these days.
