Waterman bolsters goalkeeping department

38 year-old goalkeeper Boy Waterman has been added to PSV’s first-team squad with immediate effect. The vastly experienced Dutch shot stopper, who has signed a contract until the summer of 2023, joined his new team-mates on the first day of pre-season on Monday afternoon.

A wealth of experience
PSV Director of Football John de Jong explained why he was eager to add Waterman to the squad. “Boy has made many appearances the past few seasons. He is fit and knows what it takes to play at the highest level. He has gained a wealth of experience, which he will bring to the dressing room. And he has been with PSV before. We are happy he has returned to Eindhoven.”

Second spell with PSV
Waterman started his second season in the service of PSV on Monday afternoon. He was the man between the sticks 29 times between 2012 and 2013. PSV won the Johan Cruijff Shield, reached the KNVB Cup final and finished the season in second place. Waterman joins PSV from Ofi Kreta in Greece as a free agent. Before he made a move to Ofi Kreta, he was crowned champion of Cyprus with APOEL Nicosia.
