PSV captain Marco van Ginkel admitted he was relieved after his side secured a 3-0 win over ADO Den Haag. “I am happy we have returned to winning ways. If we pull off a good result in the two upcoming games in December, we will go into the mid-winter break with good feelings”, he said, speaking after the game.
“We started the game brightly: Luuk de Jong got ahead of his marker to give us the lead and we were soon two goals up with a lucky strike. We took our foot off the pedal but it was game over when we scored the third goal from the penalty spot. We had plenty of chances after the break to add a few more goals and it’s a pity we didn’t convert them” said Ginkel, who is joined Eredivisie top scorer with ten strikes to his name.
De Jong: ‘We put on a solid team display’
Luuk de Jong, who struck twice in the early opening exchanges, was happy to have bagged the three points. “We wanted to make amends in Groningen but didn’t return to winning ways until tonight. We put on a solid team display but could and should have scored more goals.”
