PSV have sold Marco van Ginkel to Vitesse just before the close of the January transfer window. The midfielder, who has earned two caps for the Netherlands, returns to the club where he rose through the youth ranks. He will be reunited in Arnhem with manager Phillip Cocu and former PSV team mate Davy Pröpper.
Marco Van Ginkel has worn the captain’s armband at PSV for a long period. The midfielder made 118 appearances for PSV in all competitions., scoring 34 goals and providing 15 assists. He won the Eredivisie title with PSV twice. He also won the TOTO KNVB Cup and lifted the Johan Cruijff Shield on two occasions. Moreover, he gained success in the Champions League, under head coach Phillip Cocu, with whom he will now be reunited.
