Transfer | PSV sell Madueke to Chelsea FC

PSV and Chelsea FC have reached an agreement on the transfer of Noni Madueke. The 20-year-old forward joins the club from London for an undisclosed fee.

“When you look at our position in the football pyramid, you know there will be deals to which you simply can’t say ‘No’”, explains PSV General Manager Marcel Brands. “Noni told us months ago he wanted to return home to England, also for personal reasons. Chelsea made us an offer we could not refuse. We have already sold Cody Gakpo but look to bolster our squad with some new signings.”

Chukwunonso Tristan Madueke joined PSV from Tottenham Hotspur in 2018. The winger opted to sign a contract with PSV as he firmly believed in the chances offered by PSV to young football talents. He rose through the youth ranks in Eindhoven and was promoted from the U21s to the first team at the age of seventeen. Madueke scored twenty goals in 79 appearances for PSV. He won the KNVB Cup and the Johan Cruijff Shield. “Noni and PSV drew up a plan years ago and it has been executed to perfection”, says Brands. “He was a man on a mission when he joined PSV and he has been successful, thanks to the efforts of many people and his own commitment and dedication. This is something to be proud of.”
