Following this weekend’s racist incident in Den Bosch, in which the match against Excelsior was stopped for a time when one of the Excelsior players was subject to racist abuse, all 34 professional Dutch football clubs will issue a strong antiracism statement. Racism has no place in society or in football.
In all Eredivisie, Eredivisie Women and First Division matches in the Netherlands this weekend, the players will pass the ball comfortably around for sixty seconds and then stop playing. At the same time a unequivocal message of zero tolerance for any form of racism and discrimination will be shown on the scoreboards: Racism? We will not play!
