Games come thick and fast as PSV face a busy schedule. Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men will travel to the county of Drenthe on Tuesday to meet FC Emmen in a midweek fixture.

PSV have never suffered defeat against FC Emmen. The two teams have met nine times before and PSV ran out winners on seven occasions. PSV played three away games at De Oude Meerdijk, where they drew twice and won one game. PSV earned a 2-1 win on their latest visit on 26 January 2021, when Mauro Júnior (81) and Eran Zahavi (88) netted two late goals to help PSV to a narrow victory.  

Season curtain opener
PSV beat FC Emmen 4-1 on the opening day of the 2022/23 Eredivisie season, thanks to goals from Cody Gakpo (2), Johan Bakayoko and a remarkable own goal by Maikel Kieftenbeld. FC Emmen will travel to the Philips Stadion in two weeks to lock horns with PSV in a TOTO KNVB cup round of 16 fixture .

Artificial grass
FC Emmen play their home games at De Oude Meerdijk on artificial grass. PSV usually put on fine performances on artificial turf pitch, but crashed to a 3-0 defeat at FC Cambuur, which put an end to an unbeaten run of 35 league fixtures (W26 -D9).
