Schmidt: “PSV are ready to take on Feyenoord”

Fixtures come thick and fast for PSV but head coach Roger Schmidt does not think that a hectic schedule is a problem for his side. “We’ve done it before and dealt with it successfully”, he said, meeting the press at PSV Campus De Herdgang on Saturday, ahead of Sunday’s big Eredivisie clash against Feyenoord in the Philips Stadion.

"We will send out a fully fit team on Sunday and play to the best of our capacities”, said Schmidt, who is pleased PSV are in-form. “The atmosphere in the stadium on Thursday when we took on Real Sociedad was tremendous. We could put into practice what we expected of ourselves. We have to be ready for the next game, against Feyenoord. It is a massive game and a good result would boost our self-confidence.”

Unscathed
PSV have come through Thursday’s UEFA Europa League game largely unscathed. Phillipp Mwene has some minor problems. Schmidt spoke highly of Feyenoord. “I think they are better than last season and have a clear style of play. They defend compactly and stoutly and have some good forwards.”
