Romário will be guest of honour on Saturday when PSV play host to AZ in the final Eredivisie game in 2022. The former top striker from Brazil will travel to Eindhoven this week to be immortalised in the PSV Walk of Fame.
Footprints
Romário will have his footprints calculated in the Philips Stadion so that his tile can be added to the PSV Walk of Fame. The ceremony will take place prior to the kickoff. On the eastern side of the stadium, a tiled path has been constructed with the footprints of PSV legends.The Brazilian will follow in the footsteps of eleven PSV stars: Willy van der Kuijlen, Ronaldo, Luc Nilis, Hans van Breukelen, Ruud van Nistelrooij, Phillip Cocu, Berry van Aerle, Mark van Bommel, Heurelho Gomes, Arjen Robben and Mateja Kezman.
First addition
The PSV Walk of Fame was opened last summer during the annual PSV FAN day, presented as a farewell present to the club and fans by energiedirect.nl. It consists of tiles with foot- and handprints of former PSV stars. Energiedirect.nl stopped as PSV shirt sponsor but continued as a partner in the sponsor pyramid. Tiles of PSV legends will be added quite regularly.
