Richard Ledezma signs new PSV deal

Richard Ledezma has signed a contract extension with PSV until the summer of 2024. The 21-year-old American midfielder is happy to extend his stay. “This feels great after all I went through last season. I am very happy and enjoy being a football player every single minute.”

Fight back
“I am delighted to be starting this new chapter in my PSV career”, said Ledezma, who made a return from injury earlier this month. Ledezma tore his anterior cruciate ligament playing for PSV in their Europa League match at Omonia Nicosia last season and was out for the rest of the season. The injury required many months of rehabilitation and Ledezma was happy to make his long-awaited return from injury in PSV’s 2-0 KNVB Beker victory against Fortuna Sittard. “I am excited to be part of the team again and look forward to developing my skills. I have fought back but I know I have to be patient. I am really proud to be back. Words cannot describe how I feel. I am so happy and enjoy being a football player every single minute”, said Ledezma.

Joined PSV in 2019
The American-born prospect with Mexican roots is an attacking midfielder. He joined the PSV Academy three seasons ago from Real Salt Lake in the USA. He started playing for PSV U21 and made his senior debut against ADO Den Haag in 2020.
