PSV want to make amends for 2-2 draw

After having been dealt a heavy blow in Enschede on Thursday night, PSV hope to make amends for the 2-2 draw when they host stubborn Willem II in the Philip Stadion on Sunday afternoon at 16.45.

PSV have won their last 13 home games against Willem II
PSV have never suffered defeat at home to Willem II since 1983. They have won 25 games and have drawn two. PSV have not dropped a single point against Willem II in the Philips Stadion since 2000. They have run out winners against Willem II in their last thirteen home games.  PSV only enjoy better spells only against Haarlem (fourteen wins against Haarlem between 1974 and 1989 and against FC Utrecht (victories from 1997 up till now).

Few goals
PSV were held to a 0-0 draw by Willem II in this season’s reverse encounter in Tilburg, which perfectly sums up their season. Willem II, currently lying in eleventh place in the Eredivisie table, have scored 26 goals in 29 games. Roda JC, with 21 goals, are less clinical in attack. They conceded 34 goals and only Feyenoord, Ajax, PSV and FC Utrecht have done better .

Ten men
Ten-man PSV beat Willem II 2-0 in last season’s corresponding match. Phillip Cocu’s side was reduced to ten men on 30 minutes when Santiago Arias was shown a second yellow card. Marco van Ginkel opened the scoring in the 68th minute, while Luuk de Jong doubled PSV’s lead from the penalty spot ten minutes later.
