PSV U23 take part in 2022/23 Premier League International Cup

PSV U23 will take part in the Premier League International Cup for the seventh time. The team has participated in the prestigious tournament ever since it was founded in 2014. The Premier League International Cup was cancelled the past two seasons due to Covid-19. PSV will meet some of the biggest clubs from England in this season’s Premier League International Cup. PSV U23 lost the final against their Villarreal CF counterparts in the 2015/16 season.

PSV U23, coached by Adil Ramzi, will get their campaign underway against Brighton & Hove Albion U23 on Wednesday August 17th, kick-off 7pm, before they face West Ham United U23, Manchester United U23 and Arsenal U23. Twelve teams from Premier League 2 and 12 equivalent teams from elite European Academies are invited, with the competition split into six groups of four. The top two teams from each group, along with the best two third-place teams will progress to the quarter-finals, which is a knockout stage.

In the knockout stages, the ties are decided in one-off matches, with extra-time and then penalties required if the match is level after 90 minutes.

All matches are played in England.
