PSV U21 took on TOP Oss at PSV Campus De Herdgang on Monday night. Interim manager Ernest Faber had called up as many as nine PSV U18 players to the match squad, including four 16-year old youngsters. The match ended in a goalless draw.
Many chances, no goals
Former PSV player Olivier Rommens sustained an injury in the 15th minute. The first chance of the game fell to TOP forward Dennis van der Heyden who had the goal at his mercy but PSV U21 keeper Mark Spenkelin, who made his second appearance made a super reflex save to deny him. At the other end, Frederik Oppegård put a long ball into the path of Jeremy Antonisse, whose curling effort went just wide of the post.
PSV U21 saw most of the ball in the closing stages but failed to create any clear-cut chances. They went close when substitute Mohamed Nassoh controlled the ball on the edge of the penalty area before unleashing a powerful shot that crashed off the bar. 18-year-old Mylian Jimenez made his PSV U21 debut, when he came on as a substitute with twenty minutes remaining. Antonisse was put clean through. TOP Oss keeper Bo Geens quickly left his line and brought down Antonisse just outside the box. He was sent off but PSV could not make the most of their numerical advantage as the match ended in a goalless draw.
