PSV U21 suffer defeat in final game in 2019

PSV U21 failed to end 2019 on a high note after suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of FC Den Bosch in De Vliert on Friday night.

Madueke opens PSV U21 scoring account
The hosts saw most of the ball in the opening exchanges, but did not create any big chances. Until the 24th minute, when Stefan Velkov, left unmarked, controlled a cross form the left and slotted home: 1-0. Ten minutes later, Noni Madueke, who was recently promoted to the PSV U21 squad, opened his scoring account with an absolute peach of a goal: 1-1. It was a short-lived equaliser as Ruben Rodrigues put FC Den Bosch again on the stroke of half-time: 1-1.

No big chances
PSV U21 went in search of an equaliser after the break. Sekou Sidibe came close but the FC Den Bosch goalkeeper made a save to deny him. Madueke, who was outstanding, started a great solo run but sent his effort wide. PSV U21 threw everything forward in the closing stages in an attempt to salvage a point. Madueke, again, went close, but his shot went agonisingly wide of the post. Peter Uneken’s team are sitting seventeenth in the table, with sixteen points from twenty games.
