PSV U21 succumb to a 2-1 defeat at Almere City

PSV U21 succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at Almere City on Friday night.

Created little 
PSV U21 created little in the opening stages. Matthias Verreth chipped his effort straight at the opposition keeper and Cody Gakpo had a shot blocked. The hosts took the lead on 36 minutes after captain Damon Mirani glanced in a fine header. HT: 1-0.

Gakpo smashed home equaliser 
Dennis Haar’s men made a lively start to the second half. Cody Gakpo wriggled his way past a couple of opponents and into the box before smashing home an equaliser in the 46th minute: 1-1. PSV U21 were in control of the match and came close to taking the lead but Almere City goalkeeper Etemadi pulled off a save to deny Zakaria Aboukhlal. Almere City fought themselves back into the game and Efmorfidis scored the winner in the 78th minute. FT: 2-1.
