After recording two wins in a row, PSV U21 slipped to a 3-1 defeat at Cambuur Leeuwarden on a cold Friday night.
Poor first half
The hosts played a high-pressing game early on but Dennis Haar’s men created the first chance of the game on fifteen minutes, but Joël Piroe just failed to connect with Jordan Teze’s cross into the area. Cambuur were the better team in the first period and Kevin van Kippersluis gave them the lead in the 24th minute, Sam Hendriks doubled the lead for the home side on the stroke of half time: 2-0.
The second half continued in the same vein, with PSV U21 creating few chances. Matthias Verreth came close but fired a threatening effort into the side netting. The game was over as a contest fifteen minutes from the end, when Sam Hendriks slotted home the third goal of the evening. Substitute Lennerd Daneels scored a consolation goal in the 86th minute.
