PSV U21 were held to a 1-1 draw by Telstar at PSV Campus De Herdgang on Friday night. Peter Uneken’s team fought hard to earn a battling point, thanks to Sekou Sidibe who scored a last-minute goal.
Ledezma and Ngonge had first-half chances
The first chance of the game fell to PSV U21 after fifteen minutes’ play. Richard Ledezma was played clean through but Telstar goalkeeper Swolfs saved his effort. Ledezma came close again when he rounded a few defenders but Swolfs pulled off another save to deny the young Belgian. Cyril Ngonge had the ball in the net but he had his goal disallowed for offside.
PSV U21 started the second half brightly and created a number of fair chances. Sidibe had a shot blocked by a Telstar defender but the visitors took the lead on 67 minutes against the run of play, when Sven van Doorm curled a free kick into the top of the net: 0-1. Justin de Haas had a gilt-edged chance in the closing stages but hit the bar from a free kick. Sidibe was mobbed by his team-mates when he scored a fully deserved equaliser at the death, seconds before the final whistle: 1-1.
