PSV U21 were held to a 1-1 draw at FC Dordrecht, when head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy took charge for the first time. His team had attacking intentions for the full 90 minutes but had to be satisfied with one point in the end.

First meaningful chance
18-year-old goalkeeper Aron van Lare was handed his first start for PSV U21 in the opening game of the season. Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men took the lead in the 17th minute from their first meaningful chance. PSV passed the ball around but could not convert their dominance into more goals.

Deserved a win
German attacking midfielder Tim Holscher put the home side back on level terms in the 64th minute. FC Dordrecht put pressure on the PSV U21 defence but Mohamed Nassoh, who made his PSV U21 debut, defended stoutly. PSV U21 gradually took control of the game again and deserved to take all three points to Eindhoven, but no goals were scored in the closing stages.
