PSV U21 come from behind to beat Ajax 3-1

Over 1100 fans saw PSV U21 come back from 1-0 down to beat Ajax 3-1 at PSV Campus De Herdgang on Friday night. Ruud van Nistelnooy’s team were trailing 1-0 at half-time but staged a great fightback to secure all three points.

The visitors saw most of the ball in the first period, while PSV U21 looked to threaten on the counter attack. Ajax took the lead in the 23rd minute when Youri Regeer beat PSV U21 Vincent Müller with a well-placed shot: 0-1. PSV U21, with three debutants, showed resilience but could not score an equaliser in the remaining minutes of the first half. HT: 0-1.

Bounced back  
PSV U21 bounced back after the break and scored two goals in ten minutes’ time. Nigel Thomas restored parity one minute after the restart and Dante Sealy capped a debut with a goal in the 55th minute: 2-1. It was game over in the 78th minute when Johan Bakayoko made it three. The visitors from Amsterdam worked hard to reduce the deficit but PSV comfortably held on for a fine 3-1 victory.
