PSV have signed José Ángel Esmoris Tasende, commonly known as Angeliño, on a five-year deal. The 21-year-old Spanish left back joins Phillip Cocu’s side from Manchester City after spending last season on loan at Eredivisie club NAC Breda.
Excellent debut season
Born in A Coruña, Angeliño joined Deportivo de La Coruña’s youth setup in 2007 at the age of ten. He made a move to Manchester City in 2012 and was an unused substitute when he was called up to The Citizens match squad for the first time two years later. The Spaniard made his first-team debut in January 2016 in a 4-0 away FA Cup win against Aston Villa, coming on in the 81st minute to replace Gaël Glichy. As the left back found first-team chances with Manchester City limited, he spent time on loan with NYCFC and RCD Mallorca before signing a loan deal at NAC Breda.
Angeliño enjoyed an excellent debut season in the Dutch Eredivisie. His performances were rewarded by four Rookie of the Month awards. He soon became a first-team regular in Breda, playing the full 90 minutes in 35 games, scoring three goals and delivering seven assists.

Angeliño today passed a medical at TopSupport, before putting pen to paper at the Philips Stadion on a five-year deal. Speaking to , Angeliño revealed he was very excited d to have joined PSV. ‘I have always wanted to play for a big team and it’s great to be part of a successful team.’
