Post-match conference | Bosz reflects on six-goal blitz

PSV maintained their perfect start of the season with a eleventh consecutive victory at Heracles Almelo. Six different players found the back of the net in PSV’s 6-0 thrashing on Saturday evening. The hosts were reduced to ten men in the 21st minute when Justin Hoogma was sent off for a reckless challenge on Guus Til. Head coach Peter Bosz and midfielder Jerdy Schouten met the media after the game.

Peter Bosz looked back at a perfect evening. “Six goals, none conceded and we were able to rest a few players, ahead of Wednesday’s crucial game at home to RC Lens. We were the better team in the early opening stages before Heracles were down to ten men. We put on an excellent display, creating plenty of chances.” Bosz paid tribute to his team. “An away game at Heracles is always a tall task, so we are satisfied with the three points. We were sloppy in training and actually I didn’t sleep too well the night before the game but I was fortunately proved wrong.”

Jerdy makes fun of his goal
Jerdy Schouten, who doubled PSV’s lead on the stroke of half time, thought the match was over as a contest after twenty minutes. “It was all over after they were reduced to ten men, but it took us a while before we managed to capitalise on the numerical advantage. We netted six goals but could have scored a few more when you look at the number of goal scoring opportunities we created. I don’t score that much myself, so I’m happy with my goal. I am noy often in a position to shoot on target and even now I first looked to find a team mate before I eventually slotted home myself”, said Jerdy Schouten, smiling brightly.
