Olivier Boscagli was all smiles after the 5-0 thrashing of Fortuna Sittard and rightly so. The French defender had received a framed photograph and a bunch of flowers prior to kick-off for making his 100th appearance for PSV and performed well during the 5-0 win.
Three days after playing a European in Copenhagen, PSV returned to Eredivisie action against Fortuna Sittard in the Philips Stadion. Boscagli embraces PSV’s hectic schedule. “We were not really tired after the mid-week European encounter and put in a fine team display”, said the defender. “Fortuna Sittard fight against relegation so we knew we had to show up for the full 90 minutes. But we have enough quality to win any game.”
Boscagli hailed PSV’s fighting spirit. “We eased to a convincing win after scoring an early goal. We face a hectic schedule but we have an in-depth squad and the substitutes were outstanding, giving us fresh energy. We need all our players now that we still compete on three fronts. With seven league games left, anything is still possible”, said Boscagli.
