Thorgan Hazard put pen to paper on a loan deal with PSV until the end of the season. The Belgium international thinks PSV is the right club for him to get regular game time and to compete on three fronts. He is delighted with the perspective offered to him by PSV and looks forward to adapting to the new environment as quickly as possible.
Deadline day was a hectic day for Thorgan as he suffered from a lack of sleep. “I am very pleased to be here. The first impressions are brilliant”, says the Belgian in the build-up to Sunday’s massive game at Feyenoord. “It’s a big game and I couldn’t wish for a better start. I am really looking forward to getting a result on my first outing with PSV.’
Ready to compete
The 29-year-old attacker joins PSV from Borussia Dortmund on loan for the rest of the season. “I wanted to make a move to this fine ambitious club that competes on three fronts.” Thorgan vividly remembers his visit to the Philips Stadion in 2013. “I was a Zulte Waregem player at the time and we met PSV in a Champions League qualifying tie. We didn’t stand a chance for the full 90 minutes. The atmosphere in the Philips Stadion that night was absolutely electric.”
Confidence
The Belgian is full of confidence as he continues his career with PSV. “Everybody here is hospitable and I hope to pay it back when I am on the pitch.” Thorgan feels he can help the team due to his football intelligence. “I think I am a versatile player who can play in several positions up front”, he says, smiling brightly. “I just hope I will be smiling from ear to ear at the end of the season!”
