Before several PSV players represent their respective countries during the international break, they will first face Fortuna Sittard in round 12 of the 2021/22 Eredivisie campaign. Head coach Roger Schmidt makes one change from the team that drew 0-0 with AS Monaco, bringing on Mauro JR for Vertessen.
Promising youngsters
Roger Schmidt has added two promising youngsters to the match squad. Midfielder Ismael Saibari made his Eredivisie debut for PSV against ADO Den Haag last season. Forward Johan Bakayoko has been called up to the match squad for the first time. Bakayoko has been on target for PSV U21 this season, with four goals and as many assists, while Saibari has scored two goals and delivered two assists.
100th appearance.
Joël Drommel will make his 100th league appearance in Sittard this afternoon. PSV’s goalkeeper, who has been included in the Netherlands squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifying games, has kept 18 clean sheets in 99 league appearances. Referee Pol van Boekel has been chosen to take charge of the game. Kick-off is at 14.30.
