PSV ran out 1-0 winners against Sparta Rotterdam, thanks to Donyell Malen, who had a penalty saved but scored from the rebound. A much-changed PSV side struggled and earned a hard-fought victory. Malen expressed his relief that PSV had bagged all three points in the end.
Malen was one of eight-team regulars who was rested in view of the hectic fixture list. “It may have been risky but we have enough quality players to add depth to our squad. It was a narrow win and a match to forget soon. But you can learn from every game”, said Malen.
