Several PSV players represented their respective countries during the international break. Take a look at how they fared in the latest round of international fixtures.
Donyell Malen marked his Netherlands debut with a goal in the 4-2 win against Germany. Netherlands coach Ronal Koeman rewarded the PSV striker with a starting place against Estonia. The Oranje ran out 4-0 winners. PSV right back Denzel Dumfries started against Germany but was a substitute not used against Estonia.
Mexico and Japan
Érick Gutiérrez played in Mexico’s 2-0 victory over the United States. He cane on as a substitute and opened his Mexico scoring account in the 3-0 win. As he sustained an injury he was not called up to the match squad to face Argentina in an international friendly.
Ritsu Doan was included in Japan’s startling line-up against Paraguay in an international friendly and a World Cup qualifying game against Myanmar. Japan recorded a 2-0 victory in both fixtures.
Cody Gakpo has withdrawn from the Netherlands U21 squad through illness. Michal Sadílek got a call-up for the Czech U21 side and played the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Lithuania U21 in a European qualifying game.
Jordan Teze featured in two matches for the Netherlands U20 side. He started against England U20 ( a goalless draw) and was brought on as a substitute against Germany U21 (2-1 defeat).Joël Piroe, on loan at Sparta Rotterdam, started against England but was a substitute not used against Germany, along with Armando Obispo, who is on loan at Vitesse this season, and goalkeeper Mike van den Meulenhof.
