Lammers struck twice in 3-2 win at FC Dordrecht

Sam Lammers struck twice as PSV U21 claimed a 3-2 away win at FC Dordrecht on Friday evening. The young striker took his tally for the season to fourteen goals.

Early goal
It started snowing in the Riwal Hoogwerkers Stadion half an hour before kick-off. The hosts took an early lead when Daniëls beat Jurjus with a well-placed shot on seven minutes. PSV’s goalkeeper had not been called into action yet. Lammers restored parity only four minutes later when he unleashed a long-range effort. The ball swerved mesmerizingly towards goal and past a bemused FC Dordrecht keeper: 1-1. Heavy snowfall stopped play for fifteen minutes after which the players went back onto the pitch. HT: 1-1

Three second-half goals in quick succession
The game did not spark into life until the 64th minute when Verreth put PSV U21 ahead. Gudmundsson delivered a cross and the Belgian controlled the ball well before lashing home: 1-2. It was a short-lived lead as some five minutes later Thomas levelled the score: 2-2. Lammers headed home the winning goal from close range with fifteen minutes remaining. FT: 2-3.
