Sam Lammers has extended his contract with PSV until the summer of 2021. The 19-year-old striker, who made his first-team debut this season, joined the PSV Academy in the 2010/11 season.
'Become a first-team regular'
Lammers, who has scored ten goals in sixteen Jupiler League matches so far, is one of the outstanding PSV U21 players this season. He won the Bronze Bull Award for his fine performances in October, after he had made his PSV senior debut in a KNVB Beker tie against Roda JC in Kerkrade. “It’s my intention to become a first-team regular”, he said after having put pen to paper on his new contract.
'A reward for the hard work'
Lammers thinks the new contract is a reward for the hard work he has put into the team the past few years. “I’ve had a taste of first-team action and am hungry for more. I’ve joined a great club and want to show what I can do after committing my future to PSV. I intend to be a big part of the future of PSV, but I know that Luuk de Jong will lead the line for some time to come. I will try and score many goals for PSV U21 this season.”
