Jong PSV suffered 1-5 defeat against VVV-Venlo

Jong PSV could not continue their fine start to the 2015/16 Jupiler League season. After two wins in a row, Pascal Jansen’s team suffered a 1-5 defeat against VVV-Venlo at De Herdgang training facilities on Friday evening.

VVV-Venlo struck three times in the first half
Jong PSV started brightly and Steven Bergwijn linked up well with Marcel Ritzmaier on five minutes, but the VVV-Venlo goalkeeper pulled off a save to deny them. But then the visitors were all over the place. Reisda missed a number of chances but the deadlock was broken in the 22nd minute when Nijholt, who had already hit the post twice, beat Jong PSV keeper Bertrams. Six minutes later VVV-Venlo doubled their lead when Opoku blasted home. The unlucky Jong PSV defender Loof scored an own goal in the closing stages of the first half to make it 0-3.

Sam Lammers opened Jong PSV scoring account
Jong PSV coach Pascal Jansen made two changes at half-time bringing on Dirk Abels and Olivier Rommens for Hermannsson and Leemans. Sam Lammers opened his Jong PSV scoring account eleven minutes into the second half, but Buwalda restored a three-goal advantage for the visitors on 76 minutes. Opoku beat Bertrams for the second time with seven minutes remaining. Final score: 1-5.
