Jong PSV suffer emphatic defeat at De Graafschap

Jong PSV started the game against De Graafschap at De Vijverberg on Friday evening brightly, but suffered a 5-0 defeat in the end.

Bright start
Jong PSV started the game against De Graafschap brightly. Goalkeeper Hidde Jurjus made a good save from Moussa Sanoh´s header and Francois Marquet flashed the ball across the face of goal but then Darije Kalezic´s side had little to offer. Defender Robin Pröpper gave the hosts the lead on 37 minutes, tapping home from close range from a corner: 1-0. Another defender, left back Caner Cavlan, extended the lead on the stroke of half-time, slotting home into the near-post corner: 2-0.

De Wijs own goal
De Graafschap were the superior team after the break as well. Striker Vincent Vermeij headed home the third goal on 66 minutes and six minutes later Cavlan netted his second goal of the match. He combined well with a team-mate before unleashing a vicious shot into the back of the net, leaving Jong PSV goalkeeper Bertrams with no chance: 4-0. And Jong PSV suffered more misery when Jordy de Wijs unluckily headed home an own goal from substitute’s Tim Menting cross: 5-0.
