Johan Bakayoko created a stunning four-star performance against VVV-Venlo, scoring all four goals in PSV U21’s 4-1 victory at De Koel in Venlo on Friday night.

The first chance of the game fell to Ismael Saibari who saw his effort saved in the 2nd minute. Minutes later, Simon Colyn had a fine goal scoring opportunity but the VVV-Venlo goalkeeper made a save to deny the Canadian striker. The hosts took the lead in the 24th minute from their first meaningful chance, with defender Brian Koglin slotting home: 1-0. Ruud van Nistelrooy’s youngsters fought themselves back into the game and Johan Bakayoko showed great technical skill in the 35th minute, when he rifled a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area into the roof of the net: 1-1.
Ruud van Nistelrooy made one half-time change, bringing on Dante Sealy for Simon Coly. The substitute was pulled down in the box seven minutes into the second half and Johan Bakayoko stepped up to take the resulting spot kick. He sent the keeper the wrong way to score his second goal of the match: 1-2. VVV-Venlo went in search of an equaliser and PSV U21 goalkeeper Maxime Delanghe pulled off a string of fine saves. PSV U21 looked to find space behind VVV-Venlo’s defence and Johan Bakayoko completed a hat-trick in the 68th minute with an excellent left-footed shot: 1-3. The young Belgian capped a man-of-the-match performance with a fourth goal in the 84th minute. FT: 1-4.
