Several PSV first-team players have been selected to represent their countries in the upcoming international matches. They will report for duty on Monday after Sunday’s big game against Feyenoord.
Cody Gakpo
The Dutch national team will continue preparing for the Word Cup that kicks off in November. Cody Gakpo is the only PSV player who has been in the Netherlands squad for the upcoming Nations League fixtures against Poland and Belgium.
Simons makes Netherlands U23 debut
Midfielder Xavi Simons has received his maiden call-up to the Netherlands U23 squad. Ki-Jana Hoever is on stand-by to face Belgium and Romania.
Sangaré and Guti
Ibrahim Sangare and Érick Gutiérrez will be in action for Ivory Coast and Mexico, respectively. The Ivory Coast, who failed to qualify for the 2024 World Cup, will play international friendlies in France. Mexico succeeded in booking a spot in the World Cup and Guti and his Mexico team mates will prepare for the tournament.
Belgian and Moroccan youngsters
PSV’s Belgian youngsters Johan Bakayoko, Yorbe Vertessen and Kjell Peersma will not have to make a long trip to represent their country Johan Bakayoko, Yorbe Vertesen have been named in the Belgium U23 squad, while goalkeeper Kjelll Peersman has been selected for the Belgium U19 squad. Ismael Saibari will take part in a training camp with Morocco U23.
