Ibrahim Afellay has made his long-awaited comeback from injury for PSV U21 in a friendly at home to Derby County on Friday afternoon. Peter Uneken’s side comfortably claimed a 4-0 victory.
PSV U21 took the lead through Joël Piroe. Goalkeeper van de Meulenhof was called into action several times and made saves to keep his side in the game. The hosts looked to double their lead in the first half but Aboukhlal and Sidibe sent their efforts wide.
Van de Meulenhof pulled off a fine reflex save to prevent the visitors from netting an equaliser. PSV U21 began to dominate the game after the break and created chances. Piroe hit the side netting before extending PSV U21’s lead. Peter Uneken’s side did not take their foot off the pedal and Olivér Horváth as well as Sekou Sidibe got their names on the score sheet.
