PSV technical director Marcel Brands has confirmed on Friday morning that goalkeeper Luuk Koopmans joins PSV from FC Oss. The 21-year-old has signed a three-year contract with an option of a fourth.
Koopmans: ‘Delighted to have completed a dream move’
“I am really delighted to have completed a dream move”, admitted Koopmans after signing his contract. “Ever since I was a young boy, I have been a PSV fan. I would walk out onto the pitch as a youngster in the company of no one else but Johann Vogel. I follow the club closely. This is a unique opportunity for me. “ Koopmans wants to become a better goalkeeper in his first year with PSV. ”I will work hard with the goalkeeping coach in training and eventually hope to be between the posts in the Philips Stadion.”
Koopmans will join Cocu´s senior squad
Koopmans, 18 November 1993, will join Phillip Cocu´s senior squad for pre-season training and make Jupiler League appearances for Jong PSV next season. Last season, he made 31 starts for FC Oss. The goalkeeper, who came through the youth ranks at N.E.C./FC Oss, made his full debut for FC Oss in the 2012/13 season.
