Dumfries: “We must stop the rot”

Denzel Dumfries was very disappointed that PSV dropped more points after another poor second-half display. “We could and should have killed off the game in the first half”, he said, speaking after the game.

“We dominated the first half”
"We dominated the first half and created four chances but lacked cutting edge up front.” Asked to account for the winless run, PSV’s captain said: ”We did not do well at defining moments. We did not press high on the pitch anymore and lost possession easily. We were dominant in the first half but failed to double the lead, but after the break FC Emmen were the best team.”

“We must stop the rot”
"We stop the rot”, he continued. “We will never give up and carry on, with our heads held high. We owe that to our loyal fans.” Daniel Schwaab fully agreed. “We should have converted our chances into goals. During the half-time break, we told each other to continue in the same vein, but it’s easier said than done. We really tried hard but it was not enough. We must improve our game”, admitted Schwaab, who was the only PSV player to get his name on the score sheet in Emmen.
