PSV goalkeeper Boy Waterman has signed a contract extension that will see him remain at the Philips Stadion until the summer of 2024. The 39-year-old returned to Eindhoven last summer. His current contract was due to expire at the end of the season.
Boy acts as a mentor in the squad, a role that suits him well. “They are a great bunch of players and young and old alike take my advice to heart. I get compliments from people who are close to the team. It is great to be appreciated.”
Coaching course
Boy is meanwhile thinking of a life after retiring. “But the team comes first, so I have not taken up a coaching course yet. PSV and I are considering our options.”
