Contract extension | Bakayoko rewarded with contract extension until 2026

Nineteen-year-old Johan Bakayoko has signed a contract extension with PSV that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2027. The promising young winger was promoted to the first-team squad this season and is now rewarded for the progress he has made with a contract extension.

Johan Bakayoko made his first-team debut for PSV on 6 March 2022 and has developed into a highly regarded young talent in the squad. This season, he has over 1700 minutes of professional football, in all competitions, under his belt. He has scored seven goals and delivered four assists. Johan Bakayoko is delighted to have put pen to paper on his new deal. "This shows how much faith they have in me. I am incredibly proud.“

Most scoring player
Bakayoko joined the PSV Academy from RSC Anderlecht in the summer of 2019. The young Belgian was seventeen when he made his professional debut with PSV U21 one year later. He scored seventeen goals for PSV U21 last season, more than any other player from an U21 team in the league, and had twelve assists to his name.

Message
PSV General Manager Marcel Brands is happy Johan Bakayoko has extended his contract. “We would like to see this young player fulfill his high potential at our club.” Bakayoko’s progress has not gone unnoticed: Paris Saint Germain were interested in signing the young football talent in the January transfer window, but Bakayoko is firm: "I want to win the title here." PSV have now delivered a strong message about his future.
