PSV head coach Phillip Cocu was very satisfied with his side’s 3-1 victory against Feyenoord. “I really enjoyed the game and my team’s performance”, he said at the post-match conference in the Philips Stadion. He was obviously happy with the win. “We definitely needed to win this match”, said Cocu.
Phillip Cocu´s post-match reaction
“I was very pleased with how my team fared for 65 minutes against Feyenoord in a big clash”, said Cocu. “We conceded an early goal but responded well. We were forced to fight back from a goal down and that’s what we did. It was a great achievement, bearing in mind the weather conditions”, he said, referring to the heat and the sultry conditions in the Philips Stadion. “I really enjoyed the game, our fighting spirit, stamina and passing game. We have put in a solid team display. We need to be more clever at times, for example when we should slow the game down but we are obviously very pleased with the victory.”
Giovanni van Bronckhorst´s post-match reaction
Feyenoord boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst congratulated PSV on a fully deserved victory. “PSV were the better team over the 90 minutes. We are not happy with the defeat, which is an understatement. We are upset by the defeat, in particular as we took an early lead. But then we were made to defend deeply as PSV put in a fine display today.” Van Bronckhorst thought Feyenoord need not have suffered defeat. “We created a number of good chances but lacked finishing touch against PSV, who deserved their win”, concluded the Feyenoord head coach.
