PSV head coach Phillip Cocu had thoroughly enjoyed his side's 3-2 victory against AZ in the Philips Stadion on Saturday night. "We put in a spirited and passionate display but it takes two to tango. Both teams wanted to play attacking football. It was a really good game". he said, speaking to the press after the game.
“We have failed to put the game to bed", said Cocu. "AZ dominated parts of the game but we also showed attacking threat. I was impressed by the pace and movement of our forward lime and by the way Lozano created space. It was a spectacular game and it's nice to start the new season with three points", said Cocu, who thanked the home crowd for their support. "We had one thing on our minds. Play our hearts out and get the crowd behind us. I think we did pretty well today. Of course there is room for improvement but we will take the positives into the next game."
"Wish Stengs well"
AZ winger Calvin Stengs was stretchered off the pitch after only five minutes' play with a serious knee injury. "It does not look too good but I hope he will recover soon. Calvin is a great player and we wish him well", said Cocu
