Speaking in his pre-match conference, ahead of PSV’s final match before the winter break against Vitesse, Phillip Cocu said: “We have to stay fully focused when we play Vitesse tomorrow. The match will not be like this season’s corresponding fixture in Arnhem, which was an open game with end-to-end stuff. But we will have to dominate possession tomorrow to get a result.”
End the first half of the season on a high note
Cocu and his squad want to end the first half of the season on a high note and go into the winter break with a good feeling. PSV ‘s head coach had his say on the quality Vitesse have. “They may be inconsistent with their performances but there is no room for complacency on our side and we have told our players not to take the foot off the gas ahead of tomorrow’s league clash.”
Solid team displays
Cocu previewed his side’s first part of the 2017/18 Eredivisie campaign. “There were not too many highs and lows. We had a stuttering start but fought back and put on solid team displays. I must admit, though, we were below-par at Ajax.”
Romero
Cocu told the media he is delighted with the signing of Maximiliano Romero. “We are very happy Romero has joined us. He is a highly talented starlet and we owe our Director of Football Marcel Brands for having completed this deal.”
