Facing the media on Friday afternoon, PSV head coach Phillip Cocu stated he felt confident ahead of the clash with sc Heerenveen. 'We got off to a positive start to the second part of the campaign with a win over Excelsior and it paid off immediately as the players were in good spirits all week in training.”
“Odds are you put in a fine display"
Cocu realised this will automatically lead to another victory but yet PSV’s head coach was in a positive state of mind when he addressed the media. “Odds are you put in a fine display after a fine training week.” Cocu is not willing to focus on the nearest competitors Feyenoord and Ajax. “They will have to win their games, too, but our main priority is to turn our attention to our own games. We must try and get into a flow and win a number of games in a row.”
Cocu said at his weekly press briefing that PSV need a win over sc Heerenveen. “They have some quality players and will be a difficult team to beat. They did well in the first part of the campaign. They are consistent and drop few points. Just like the clashes with Ajax and Feyenoord, the match against sc Heerenveen is a big game.”
Zinchenko looks fit
Cocu will not make too many changes to his team, following the win over Excelsior. 'Zinchenko joined the squad for full training this morning. If he comes through today’s training session, he will be called up to Sunday’s match squad. Bergwijn did not train and will miss Sunday’s game with sc Heerenveen.”
