PSV head coach Phillip Cocu said his team’s 5-0 victory over Willem II was the ‘best medicine’ after Thursday’s disappointing 2-2 draw at FC Twente.
“I am satisfied with a solid team performance”, said Cocu at the post-match press conference. “We were control for the full 90 minutes and played at a high tempo from the first whistle. The players have put in a fine display, earned an emphatic win and made amends for the poor result on Thursday.”
Cocu made three changes to his team, bringing on Pereiro, Schwaab and Ramselaar for Locadia, Moreno and Siem de Jong. “Locadia told me he would rather not start, while I decided to rest some players for the clash with Willem II. We knew it would be the warmest day in April ever and wanted to have fit and fresh players on the pitch. We were happy to take the lead on the stroke of half time and soon wrapped up the three points after the break”, said Cocu.
