Boscagli: “We push each other to become better”

Olivier Boscagli got his name on the score sheet after he unleashed a stunning strike in the dying seconds of the game against SC Cambuur. It was a welcome boost for the French centre back.

A good night’s sleep
Boscagli, who recently became father of a baby boy, experienced some sleep disruption but feels much fitter again. “I had a good night’s sleep. The past few days were far from easy, but I feel so proud!  I must now focus on my football and my son. And then a good night’s sleep comes in handy.”

Brave display
Cambuur put pressure on the PSV rearguard, but the defenders kept their cool. It was a learning experience, said Boscagli. “Sometimes you must adapt your tactics a bit during a game. We must keep on communicating with each other and stay focused on our game. Cambuur put on a brave display so it was not that easy to defend compactly.”

Defensive partnership
Boscagli admits he owes a lot to his fellow defenders. Armando Obispo partnered him in the heart of defence and the two centre backs worked together really well. “I am pleased when our defenders perform well. It helps me to become better. I am delighted with Armando’s performance. He has been sidelined with injuries for a long spell, but he made a terrific come back. We push each other to become better every day.”
