18-year-old Armando Obispo has put pen to paper on a contract with PSV which will keep him in Eindhoven at least until the summer of 2021. The club and player already reached a verbal agreement about a new deal last month.
Joined PSV in 2006
There is an option in his new contract to extend by another year. Armando Obispo joined the PSV Academy in 2006. The Netherlands U19 international has risen through PSV’s academy system. Obispo, who trains with Phillip Cocu’s senior squad, captains the PSV U21 side. "I am grateful for PSV for the trust of confidence they have in me”, said Obispo, standing next to his father, who was celebrating his birthday. “We wanted to keep it a surprise and I think we managed to do so!”
“This is by far my best birthday present ever”, said Obispo's father. " Armando likes life in Eindhoven and PSV is the perfect club for him. That’s what I told him when he asked for my advice. I am so proud of him." The centre back has been linked with several clubs at home as well as abroad but Armando Obispo has decided to commit his future to the club he joined at the age of seven. “I am delighted to have signed a contract extension. The club have done a lot for me and treated me well.”
